20. There were shoes and potato in asteroid scene!

In the original cut of the asteroid scene, there was a shoe placed as asteroid. The rumor was that George Lucas asked the special effects team to redo the scene many times. One of the crew member got annoyed and threw in his shoe. This error was corrected later in remastered version. There is also a potato placed as asteroid. It is seen just as Millennium Falcon first enters the field, and two asteroid gets past of Falcon, a third one appears. This is the potato.

Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) is an adventure/fantasy/sci-fi movie written and directed by George Lucas and music is composed by John Williams. The movie stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing in lead roles. The film was distributed by 20th Century Fox. The film had a budget of $11 million and released in 25th May, 1977.

Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) tells the epic story of a group who set out to save the Galaxy from Empire’s world destroying battle station and rescue Princess Leia from the evil dark Lord Darth Vader.

26. George Lucas had no faith in Star Wars!

Director and writer George Lucas had ill faith in Star Wars and predicted it would flop. He did not even attended the premier, instead he went on holiday with good friend Steven Spielberg. They spent the week in Hawaii and came up with the idea of Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981).

25. Darth Vader was going to die in A New Hope!

George Lucas was often depressed during the shoot and was even hospitalized for hypertension. The cast often attempted to make him laugh or smile. Studio Executives were unhappy that Chewbacca has no clothes and even tried to design clothes for him. But eventually they aggreed to George Lucas. Chewbacca the wookiee is 200 years old.

21. Star Wars was heavily underrated before it’s release!

At the time of distribution of this film to theatres only 40 theatres aggreed to show it. 20th Century Fox threatened that if any cinema refuses to show Star Wars then they will not be given the right to show the potential blockbuster “The Other Side of Midnight (1977)”. In the end this film earned 10% of what Star Wars did.

20. All stormtroopers are left-handed!

If one sees closely, all the stormtroopers are left handed. It is because of the construction of weapons. The magazine of the weapon is on left side and therefore they have to switch grip of the weapon, which made them look like left handed.

19. Han Solo never really knew his parents!

According to the “Star Wars” visual dictionary, Han Solo never really knew his parents and is raised by space gypsies. Director and friend of George Lucas, Francis Ford Coppola inspired the attitude and character of Han Solo.

Renowned Oscar winning composer Hans Zimmer composed a separate theme for each Superhero in this movie. The theme will be used in The Justice League Part 1 (2017) and Superhero’s standalone movies as well.

20. Gal Gadot historically needed three breasts to become Wonder Woman!

Actress Gal Gadot portrays Wonder Woman in this movie. She faced some fan backlash about the Wonder Woman’s breast from the comics. To which she answered that Wonder Woman is Amazonian and historically accurate Amazonian women actually had one breast. So, if she really goes by the book then it will be problematic. She practiced various skills such as Kung Fu, sword fight, kick boxing, and jujitsu as part of physical preparation for her role.

19. Jason Momoa will portray Aquaman in 4 films!

Actor Jason Momoa plays the character of Aquaman in this movie. He confirmed that his contract with DC was a 4 picture deal.

18. Most expensive movie of all time!

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) is said to have a budget of $410 million. If it’s true then this will be the most expensive movie of all time.
