X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) is an action/adventure/fantasy movie directed by Bryan Singer and written by Simon Kinberg. The movie stars Oscar Isaac, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Helman, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, Olivia Munn, Rose Byrne, Sophie Turner, James McAvoy, and Evan Peters in lead roles.
X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) tells the story of world’s first mutant Apocalypse. He has declared himself god and has an extinction level plan for world. X-Men must unite to defeat him and save the world from most powerful villain of all time.

20. Game of Thrones connection!
Bryan Singer compared the film to Game of Thrones (2011), saying, “It’s a younger generation finding their powers and finding out who they are and their place in the world. They don’t even know if that’s the right goal. Everyone’s miserable, but they want to get that power.”

19. Stan Lee Cameo!
Stan Lee (creator of many comic characters such as Ironman, Wolverine, Deadpool, etc.), has a cameo in this film. This will be Stan Lee’s fourth cameo in an X-Men film.
18. Apocalypse is to examine the origins of mutants!
Tom Hardy and Idris Elba were considered for the role of Apocalypse. Oscar Isaac was finally selected. Director Bryan Singer has stated that why he chose Apocalypse as the main villain. He chose Apocalypse to examine the origins of mutants on earth. He said “Historical mutants has always intrigued me when we think about our Gods and our history and miracles and powers.”
17. Jean Grey then and now!
Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner plays Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).
She sharer similarities with Famke Janssen (played Jean Grey in previous X-Men films).
Both actresses are not natural redheads (Jean Grey is). Turner is Blonde and Janssen is brunette.
Both are European and an inch taller than their co-star playing Cyclops. Tye Sheriden is 5’8″ but Turner is 5’9″ and James Marsden is 5’10” but Janssen is 5’11”.
16. History has been altered.. Thanks to Days of Future Past!
Writer Simon Kinberg explains that due to the time-travelling consequences in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), history has been altered. Some mutants have turned out differently in previous films. This altered history has enabled new versions of old characters (Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Angel, Nightcrawler) to potentially exist and appear in these films.
15. Takes place in 80s!
Filmmakers has confirmed that X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) will take place in 1983. This will feature other familiar characters in their youth. In the original trilogy, Angel, Psylocke and Jubilee are portrayed as younger than Cyclops, Jean, Storm, and Nightcrawler. However, Jubilee is being portrayed as the same age as the four, while Psylocke and Angel are now older.
