Ted (2012) & Ted 2 (2015): 11 Things You Probably Didn’t Know Yet!!

Ted (2012) is a Comedy/Fantasy movie directed by Seth MacFarlane and stars Mark Wahlberg in the lead. Seth MacFarlane gave voice to the character of Ted upon whom the movie is based.

The movie was so successful that a follow-up sequel is made namely Ted 2 (2015). The movie has same star cast as before except Mila Kunis is replaced by Amanda Seyfried.

Story goes as the result of a childhood wish, John Bennett’s teddy bear, Ted, came to life and has been by John’s side ever since – a friendship that’s tested when Lori, John’s girlfriend of four years, wants more from their relationship. Now the Facts..

1. At one point in the movie, Ted mentions 9/11.Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane both narrowly missed being on the planes that hit the World Trade Center. Wahlberg was booked on American Airlines Flight 11 but decided to drive up to New York and fly to California later. McFarlane was scheduled on the same flight but arrived to gate ten minutes late and was unable to board. He was sitting in the airport when he saw that his plane had hit the North Tower of the World trade center.

2. As of December 2012, Ted (2012) is the highest grossing R-rated live action comedy of all time.

3. Various teddy bears were used as stand-ins for post-production editing. Ted’s movements were done by Seth MacFarlane through motion capture.

4. According to Seth MacFarlane, this is the first comedy film to use motion capture technology.

5. Ted sends a letter to Hasbro regarding he does not have a penis. Mark Wahlberg (John) stars in Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014). Transformers is owned by Hasbro.

6. Barbara Broccoli traditionally never allows any James Bond theme to be used in other films but Seth MacFarlane wrote her a letter asking for permission to use ‘All Time High’ from _Octopussy_ as it was his mother’s favorite song. Broccoli made a rare exception to her rule, hence ‘Mark Wahlberg’ gets to slaughter the tune in a performance in front of a dismayed crowd.
